The Vietnam Project 2012-2014, part of the SkillsMalaysia INVITE initiative, was a comprehensive effort in vocational education and skill development, enhancing collaboration between Malaysia and Vietnam. It focused on the development of the Vietnam National Occupational Skill Standards (VNOSS) and involved the creation of instructional materials for various trades. The project included industry visits, material development, and teachers training in both countries, covering diverse trades such as marine engineering, electrical, industrial electronics, aquaculture, hotel management and many more.
MIT Academy Sdn Bhd played a pivotal role in this project, contributing significantly to its success. The initiative also benefited from the expertise of technical professionals and trainers from both nations, fostering a collaborative and effective learning environment.
The Skills for Future Economy Sector Development Program spearheaded by MIT Academy, focuses on enhancing vocational education and training across key industries. Central to the initiative are efforts to develop and implement industry-led inclusive skills training and to strengthen the Skills Development Fund, aiming to support the textile and apparel industry through modular and management training, and promote lean thinking and gender-responsive practices. Additionally, the program undertakes a consultancy component to develop skills frameworks and prepare technical training institutes for the future, alongside assessing and upgrading infrastructure to support Fourth Industrial Revolution (4IR) skills. By integrating capacity building, infrastructure enhancement, and industry-aligned training, this program is dedicated to building a workforce that is innovative, inclusive, and prepared for the demands of the future economy.
Skills Development Fund (SDF) Joint Training Program
MIT Academy spearheads the Joint-Training Program co-funded by the Skills Development Fund (SDF) Cambodia, designed to upskill and reskill workers through strategic partnerships.
